Archiving incoming documents (LAD)

StarFind shas standard support for over 250 different formats (JPEG, TIFF, PDF, Word, Excel, Autocad…) and indexing can be performed manually or automatically when using the data acquisition program, StarOCR.

Archiving outgoing documents (COLD)

StarFind works to use a minimum of storage space by only retaining information useful in reproducing a document. This is achieved very effectively by utilizing the the data structure of the original application and separately retaining the formatting information in a single file.

With all StarPage type documents, is the document design generated by StarJet Design is added to the archive while the document is being storedd. Whenever an archived document is required for reprinting or consultation, it is dynamically reconstructed by StarFind. The reprint can then be published with the addition of a personalized notation such as “duplicate” or “original copy”.

Access Security

StarFind incorporates a number of management controlled security features to protect the confidentiality of information. Archives are maintained hierarchically with access controlled by passwords.

Consulting archives

Documents can be consulted in Client/Server mode or via the Internet with the StarFind/AWS module (StarFind/Active Web Server). Access to archives is filtered according to user login. A Flash® interface is used to allow complex searches and produce electronic messaging or paper reprints of selected documents. Both viewing and printing occur on the client machine through the StarXplore plug-in.
